The 24th European Society for Vector Ecology (ESOVE) Conference brought together researchers and experts from across the world to share the latest developments in vector ecology and vector-borne disease research. Held in Valencia from 27th to 30th October 2026, the conference provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss new approaches to vector surveillance and management, and strengthen collaborations across the international research community.

Emma presented her research investigating the plants that mosquitoes feed on to obtain sugars. By capturing mosquitoes and analysing their DNA, she was able to identify traces of plant DNA remaining from their previous feeding activity. This work helps us better understand mosquito feeding behaviour and the plants they rely on, contributing to our wider knowledge of mosquito ecology. It was a great opportunity to share this research with the wider vector ecology community and showcase the work taking place at the school.
